About the event

The Nordic Fund Selection Forum is one of the longest running events dedicated to fund selectors and institutional investors in the Nordic region. The event offers ample opportunities for delegates to meet and exchange ideas with selector peers. The event is also an effective platform to gain insight from leading fund managers across a range of asset classes. The event is strictly for invited fund selectors and institutional investors.

Niklas Tell
Chief Content Officer at Tell Media Group

Niklas Tell is a founding partner and chief content officer at Tell Media Group, a Swedish based research and publishing company focused on the asset management industry. He is the driving force behind the company’s research, editorial and advisory efforts. Niklas Tell has covered and commented on the Nordic and inter national fund industry since 1998. Prior to establishing Tell Media Group and launching the first local b2b magazine for the Nordic asset management industry in 2006, he helped establish Morningstar in Europe and was its first european director of fund analysis. Niklas Tell has a degree in economics and business administration from the Stockholm School of Economics and is a member of the Swedish Society of Financial Analysts. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and he is often invited to address senior management teams on different topics and trends affecting the asset management industry.

Nick Samuels
Head of Manager Research at Redington

Nick joined Redington in September 2015 as a Director in the Manager Research team. Now Head of Manager Research, he leads a talented team who help institutional and wealth management clients around the world allocate to the funds that get them closer to their strategic goals. Nick is chair of Redington’s Responsible Investment Committee and also a voting member of Redington’s Investment Strategy Committee. He works directly with several of the firm’s clients in the UK and Europe. Nick began his investment career in 2000 at Schroders, where he worked on the Asia and Emerging Market equity teams, before moving into manager research roles at investment consultancy Stamford Associates, South African multi-manager Momentum Global Investment Management and US multi-manager SEI Investments.

Sacha El Khoury
Portfolio Manager at BMO Global Asset Management

Sacha is a portfolio manager in the Global Equities team, having joined BMO Global Asset Management in 2009. She is the lead manager of the BMO Sustainable Opportunities European Equity Fund which invests in companies that make a positive and material contribution to the environment and society. The fund embraces the change borne out of sustainability challenges and fosters a positive attitude to investing, which is further reinforced through constructive engagement. Sacha graduated with an MSc in Finance (with distinction) from City University, Cass Business School in 2009 and a BA in Economics (with a minor in Business Administration) from the American University of Beirut in 2007. Sacha is a CFA Charterholder.

Andrea Carzana
Portfolio Manager at Columbia Threadneedle Investments

Andrea Carzana is a portfolio manager in the European equities team and manages Columbia Threadneedle (Lux) Sustainable Outcomes Pan European Equity. Andrea is also deputy fund manager of Threadneedle (Lux) Pan European ESG Equities and two institutional ESG mandates. Before joining the company, Andrea spent three years with Mediobanca, where he worked as an equity research analyst covering companies in the insurance sector. Prior to that he was a consultant at Bain & Company. Andrea holds a BSc in Economics and an MSc in Actuarial. He was a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley Industrial Engineering department and also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Sergey Goncharov
Portfolio Manager/Executive Director at Vontobel Asset Management

Sergey Goncharov joined Vontobel Asset Management in July 2016 and is a Portfolio Manager/Analyst in the Emerging Markets Bonds team, with main responsibility in global emerging markets credit. From 2011 to 2016, he was a Senior Credit Analyst at Sberbank CIB in Moscow and was responsible for credit analysis of Russian and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) bond issuers across several sectors, including telecommunications, chemicals and transport. Before that, from 2009 to 2011, he worked for National Bank Trust in Moscow, analyzing commodity-related sectors in Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. Sergey holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the New Economic School in Moscow. From 2003 to 2008, he studied at the Moscow State University, obtaining a Mathematics degree.

Portfolio Manager and Global Industry Analyst at Wellington Management

Alan conducts fundamental analysis and research on the utilities and renewable energy/clean technology sectors, and is a member of the Utilities/Energy Team. He is also a portfolio manager of our Climate Strategy and Climate Market Neutral approaches and a team member on the Enduring Assets Portfolio.

Jonathan Doolan
Managing Partner at Indefi

Jonathan Doolan co-leads Indefi’s investment management strategy practice out of Paris. Most recently, as head of Casey Quirk’s EMEA office, Jonathan built the practice’s European presence, expertise and thought leadership. Over his 14 years with Casey Quirk, Jonathan completed over one hundred and fifty client engagements across EMEA, North American and APAC. Engagements have focus on investment process assessments and redesign, distribution target operating models, remuneration and front office due diligence. In recent years, Jonathan focused on the integration of enterprise wide ESG initiatives for European managers and has contributed to the industry’s thought leadership at a global level. Over his tenure, clients have varied from niche independent sub $10 billion alternatives managers to large multi-trillion-dollar global group finance companies. Jonathan holds a BA in International Affairs and Economics from the University of Colorado-Boulder
